Work Experience:

1989 - 2005Carolina Processing de México – Winston Data, S.A. de C.V. as a Process Manager, My responsibilities included the design and implementation of process and procedures to capture data from discount coupons, both for the regular company’s operation as well as for special projects requested by clients. Additionally, the above mentioned process and procedures needed to be followed in the 5 operating plants of the company in different cities; therefore my position also included the coordination of the 5 plant managers in all matters pertaining to the process. It is pertinent to note that we reached a 99.97 % quality in data capture. Other responsibilities were to attend to American clients visiting any of the plants, as well as evaluate any requests for new projects they might have, either personally or by phone. I also acted as a link and Project coordinator between Mexico’s Vice-president for Operations and the 5 processing plants, and as a link between the Plants and the company’s corporate offices in Winston-Salem, N.C., U.S.A.

1987-1989DICONSA Norte Centro en Chihuahua, Chih., As an Administration and Programming Regional Manager in charge of the areas of programming, human and material resources, and legal department with about 50 persons in the department. This area generated all the programming used in the regional office ant the 3 branches located in Chihuahua, Parral, and Durango, as well as the policies and procedures for personnel Management, Vehicle acquisitions, and their maintenance, and internal supplies purchasing for both the regional office and the 3 company branches..

1980 – 1987 DICONSA Norte, Monterrey, N.L. Planning and Programming Regional Manager, in charge of generating, implementing and supervising the outlaying of the Budget at regional level. Responsible for the programming and use of computer equipment, both for the regional and nine branches. I also generated the Regional Quarterly Report presented by the Regional General Manager to the Board of Directors.

1970 – 1980 I.T.E.S.M. campus Monterrey as an Associate Professor at the Economics Department, teaching Introduction to Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International Trade, Economic History, and Urban Economics at college level, and Human Resources Economics at graduate level. I co-authored Personalized Instruction Guide to Introduction to Economics, and an Economic History Manual, and was the author of the Personalized Instruction Guide to Macroeconomics. I participated in several Economics conferences, both internal and at national level as a guest speaker. I also participated as a guest speaker at the International Congress for Personalized Instruction at Washington, DC, USA. I acted as leader in a research about the return to investment for the master’s degree in Business administration, sponsored by the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.

Translation Experience

I am 100 % bilingual Spanish-English-Spanish. I worked as a part time translator in ZAZ, a translator’s company, for 2 years, translating books, manuals, as well as articles from technical magazines and newspapers, mainly about business administration, economics, and engineering. I acted as a simultaneous translator at an International economics congress sponsored by the Economics Department of the I.T.E.S.M.. I have translated several documents Spanish to English for the Committee for the Hospital de la Mujer and for several Maquila Plants in Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, mainly projects to request funding for the hospital, and Business proposals for the Maquila Plants. While working for Carolina Processing de Mexico, I translated the training manuals for operators, and I wrote in both English and Spanish the process description for the use of the corporate office and the processing Plants. As a link between the corporate office and the Plants in the above mentioned company, I would translate the requirements and requests descriptions for the company’s client’s special projects. I also acted as a translator for visiting clients at the Plants.

Other Interests

I am an avid reader. I am also good at crafts and enjoy plastic canvass embroidering, painting, and walking.

My husband and I participate at several projects at our church, such as giving pre-baptism courses, pre-confirmation and pre-wedding courses.

I was a member of the Economists Association in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and acted in several positions in different years, such as Treasurer, and new member committee.
