1. Macy’s is having a sale, so Laura and Markeya went to the mall on Saturday. Laura buys 4 tops and 6 pants for $86. Markeya buys 8 tops and 7 pants for $117. Find the price for 1 top and for 1 pair of pants.

2. Mike wants to buy pets for some of his friends. If he buys 3 dogs and 2 cats, it will cost him $1,200. If he buys 2 dogs and 3 cats, it will cost him $1,050. Find the cost of a cat.Find the cost of a dog.

3. KG’s company orders 2 types of engines. One is made of brass and the other is made of steel. A shipment of 3 brass and 10 steel engines costs $4800. A second shipment of 5 brass and 8 steel engines costs $5660. Find the cost of a brass engine.Find the cost of a steel engine.

4. A decorator named AnnaMarie buys 20 square yards of red carpet and 28 square yards of blue carpet for $1360. A week later, at the same prices, she buys 15 square yards of red and 20 square yards of blue carpet for $990. Find the costs of 1 square yard of each carpet.

5. A school is putting on a show starring Jack, Shannon and Corey. On Monday they sold 55 adult tickets and 90 student tickets and brought in $1090. On Tuesday they sold 73 adult tickets and 80 student tickets for $1210. What is the price of 1 adult ticket? What is the price of 1 student ticket?

6. During 1 month,Ben’s house used 400 units of electricity and 120 units of gas for a total cost of $147.20. The next month, the Ben used 350 units of electricity and 200 units of gas at a cost of $144. Find the costs of 1 unit of electricity. Find the cost of 1 unit of gas.
