Alan & Ros Yeatman Gloucester to Geelong in Victoria Australia
During the Christmas period of 2003, my wife and I, together with our two daughters and their husband and partner and our two grandchildren, started talking about life in the UK. We were all feeling pretty low what with the weather and the way things seemed to be going here. Uncontrolled immigration, high taxes, our youngest unable to get on the housing market etc. We all had a good moan about how things were, and how they were unlikely to change. We talked briefly about emigrating to Australia, but did nothing positive about it at this stage.
We did nothing for the next few months in fact, but every time we met, we still talked about emigration. Finally in June of 2004, our eldest daughter decided that we must either do something positive or forget it. We decided she was right and that we had to get things moving. How do you start was the first question. Fortunately my wife had met a New Zealand girl, who had used a Visa Company to obtain a Residence Visa to work in the UK. The name of this Company was A new life abroad.
We first contacted A new life abroad by the Internet. We told A NEW LIFE ABROAD that we all wanted to go. We were not prepared to leave any of us behind. All of us or none of us was the brief. We were all sent an appraisal form to see if we were eligible.
A few days after returning the completed forms they contacted me to let us know that providing we could supply all the things stated on our assessment form, my wife and I would be able to obtain a Retirement Visa, enabling us to emigrate to Australia. Our children and their families also received a letter saying much the same, but with a working visa.
We asked to start the process of obtaining our visa’s. What a good decision for us to make. Why anybody would decide to try and do it by themselves, is beyond us. They must waste so much time by not being aware of the pitfalls awaiting them. By using A new life abroad we had a company with a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience. They know how and when the various High Commissions want the information from the applicants presented.
Every few weeks we were supplied with various forms or information required for us to fill in or supply. If we didn’t understand anything or had a question we wanted answering, there was always someone at the A new life abroad office to speak to. Even during the evenings when we tended to fill in these forms, someone was always there. We never felt swamped with paperwork, as we were drip fed the various forms. It was just very comforting to know that youwere there, holding our hands at every stage.
A few evenings ago, after approximately nine months, they rang me to tell me that the visas had arrived. We as a family, are so grateful to A NEW LIFE ABROAD for all their help. I would not hesitate in telling anyone considering emigration, to let the professionals do it. We are more than happy with the way that Visa Plus did it for us.
We are now in the process of winding up our affairs in the UK and Intend to move to Geelong in Victoria Australia, at the end of July or early August.
