The City Council voted unanimously July 16, 2013 to amend Burlington’s smoking ordinance to prohibit smoking in specific kid-frequented areas of city parks, after a public hearing.

Sponsored focus group with pharmacist to determine how we can assist them in providing public education/awareness about proper prescription drug disposal. Pharmacists reported an increased need for education about medication safety especially among seniors and parent of young children.
Partnered with Alamance Citizens for a Drug Free Community to offer a workshop for parents of high school and middle school students on preventing prescription and over-the counter-drug abuse. Held workshop on June 3 with 15 parents in attendance.
