A bright new future for economic development efforts in Alice!

Alice is on the move!

Actually, the Bealls Department store is moving from its present location into the La Villita Center at 1720 East Main in Alice. The move will more than double its existing floor space. On Saturday, November 15th, the existing store will close at 6 p.m. and reopen at the new location Thursday, November 20th at 9 a.m. Hilda Garcia, local Bealls manager, reports that employees and customers alike are excited about this expansion. “It (the store expansion) will come just in time for the holidays; and we hope to see all of our customers, both new and old, at that time.”

Happy Birthday FESCO….

55 years as a leader in the Texas oil patch,! The year 2004 will mark the 55th anniversary of FESCO LTD, and what better way to celebrate such a milestone than to open a new, larger, state-of-the-art facility. In 2004 Fesco will move its headquarters, district office and shops from the current location at 1408 Main St. in Alice to the new facility in the Alice Industrial Park. The address 1000 Fesco Avenue in the Alice Industrial Park is the new headquarters, housing its offices of safety, training, human resources and accounting. FESCO Laboratories will be located at 1100 Fesco Avenue, while 1200 Fesco Avenue will be the Alice District Office. All in all, the facility will encompass 19 acres, compared to the current 4.5 acres. The new shops will have a total of 83,100 sq. feet, with a separate shop and office for each specialty area such as welding, pip lifting, hydraulics, mechanics, paint & body and calibrations. Rounding out this impressive facility will be a large central warehouse, a paint booth, and a sandblasting yard. Bill Findley CEO, reports, “Our new complex will enable us to do more, do it more easily, do it more completely and do it faster.” Look for the Grand Opening of the new FESCO LTD complex in 2004.
