Aims and objectives

Jumping Jo’s Day Nursery Neighbourhood Nursery aims to provide the highest standard of care possible, which every parent expects for their child. The care, safety and stimulation of the children are of the highest importance within the nursery. We operate a key worker system within the nursery ensuring that each child has unique one to one care within a family group.

Parents and staff have a strong communication link through a daily diary system which details the childs day at nursery and at home. We also have regular newsletters, events and parents evenings. We offer support and guidance to parents and carers and want them to feel able to ask for our help and support as and when they may need it.

We have an “open door” policy which enables the parents to access the nursery either to see their child or to discuss any problems or concerns at anytime without an appointment. This also applies to prospective parents who wish to view the nursery or to enrol their child.

We ensure that all children are guided to help them to develop socially, morally and intellectually according to their age and ability in an atmosphere that promotes respect for each other. Each child is treated as an individual irrespective of gender, race, disability or colour. We are very ethnically sensitive. We work hard to maintain a racial balance which reflects the community we live in.

By working as a team all staff both qualified and unqualified are implementing the E.Y.F.S frame work, ensuring that it is differentiated to include and promote the development of all children. The nursery environment allows the children to express themselves and achieve their milestones at their own pace. The nursery staff understands the importance of developing the children’s early communication skills and are committed to implementing the knowledge and skills developed through training programs that they attend.

We recognise that staff will have to attend regular training to ensure that their practise is current and to further broaden their knowledge and develop their skills.

We provide a fun and stimulating learning environment which challenges, motivates and excites each child. We aim to recognise and develop all talents and provide support and guidance to allow the children to reach their full potential.

We extend the intellectual and creative capabilities of each individual child and aim to instil in the children qualities of independence, perseverance, self belief and kindness. The nursery promotes social behaviour; the children learn to respect each other, living things and the world around them.

Our priority is for parents and carers to feel trust and confidence in the care we provide. We feel all of this can be achieved if all staff, parents or carers and the children themselves work together as a team.
