-  Mapping out priorities in high-level matrix to be considered by SIG members

-  Mapping positions of respective MPs regarding the focus areas of the policy positions
5 / Coordination of positions and media alignment around 2016 Federal Election
-  Conversations with contacts at the Prime Minister’s Office regarding timing of election; minimal information available, however it is likely that Turnbull is seeking to serve out full term
-  Goal of having election positions pulled together by end of March, and can improve upon/tailor them as more information becomes available
-  Discussion for March SIG meeting around how AIIA wants to position itself ahead of the next election.
-  Potential to coordinate special workshops/roundtables to consider and determine appropriate positions; to be confirmed following next month’s conversation. / All members encouraged to stay in touch and share any information that becomes available between monthly meetings.
6 / Next steps, and any other business?
-  Mandatory data breach notification bill; AIIA writing a submission and consulting members for feedback
-  Prioritisation of AIIA’s capability to respond to submissions; using the Policy SIG as an advisory ‘sounding board’ regarding which submissions AIIA completes, and just as importantly which ones it doesn’t. More focus on HIGH IMPACT pieces of work
-  Categorisation of ‘priority level’ of issues that AIIA can address via submissions
-  Aside from the current policy priorities and innovation package, we need to be forward thinking and consider:
“What is the next big issue?” / Kim Lim to send out invitation to Policy SIG members to contribute to discussion regarding mandatory data breach notification
Establishment of standing item in Policy SIG meeting regarding submission opportunities
