Background:
There is an inadequate number of individuals with required competencies in auditing available to support 2nd- and 3rd-party auditing efforts in the region. This has led to an over-dependence on external experts in the conduct of most assessments/audits, particularly in forestry. Several formal trainings (e.g. FSC and RSPO Lead Auditor training courses) have recently been held in the region. However, most of the persons trained continue to lack exposure to the practical experience important to test, improve and consolidate newly acquired skills.
The AfricaPractitioners Network,in collaboration with partners, offers an opportunity for qualified XXX Lead Auditors to developpractical auditing skills under the guidance of an experienced mentor. The agenda and approach follows the requirements of XXX standard assessment process, whilst allowing the mentor to share their expertise with the trainees throughout the exercise.
