  • Review of BHSIA Matrix
  • We are trying to invite CD staff to the tribal centric mental health. There are changes and also integration of care that’s complex.
  • Nancy asked the Assistant Secretary if there would be oversight with mental health pieces that would not cause contradictions to their work. The answer is the legislative committees would have oversight. Concern is the committees do not have knowledge about the issues involved.
  • Concerns about services especially those that impact families directly. Some of the processes are not working well together.
  • Regarding the BHSIA matrix, there is agreement to retain the existing headers with minor revisions. The document will be further revised to reflect the new format from IPAC. At this point, we are reviewing how areas of the matrix will list information that reflects what is actually taking place and parallels the tribal centric activities and legislative report.
  • The report to the legislature was discussed and sent to the IPAC ADS Subcommittee members for review.
  • The matrix will be discussed at the next subcommittee meeting.
  • ALTSA
  • Aging Services Survey Update
  • A concern Nancy has is there is lots of planning for next biennium. Parallel with AAAs with services; can we consider getting this out sooner than later? Is it too late with this fiscal year coming out? This can help us prepare for next fiscal. The letter sent out by Secretary Quigley regarding dire funding levels because of the McCleary settlement. By getting this out sooner, we are better positioned.
  • Helen Fenrich asked that the survey be sent to IPAC from OIP.
  • DDA – Linda Gil
  • Tribal Website. This is to let you know that we have a developed a new webpage on the DDA Internet site with information for American Indians and Alaska Natives. The page can be accessed via the Consumers and Families navigation link on the DDA homepage. Here is the direct link:
  • Linda notes that information from meetings will be loaded on the site.
  • Helen asks if there is ability for tribal members to ask questions or provide feedback to the webmaster.
  • Linda will forward that. She notes it’s a great question.
  • Nancy notes that the tribe will be looking at MOU with Loni’s assistance and it will get updated.
  • Loni has helped Linda set up visits with different tribes.
  • Nancy notes that tribes have vocationalrehabilitation programs. Is there a relationship on the state level between DDA and VR? And what does that look like? The relationship would be through the client. Given our Work First policy, that is where the relationship would come in.
  • Linda notes that the services are voluntary.
  • Question about Bob Beckman and waiver program. Linda offers to have him come to next month’s meeting. Overall goal is to increase capacity and numbers.
  • ODHH – Overview of ODHH, Suzanne Mannella
