·  February minutes were approved.

VP Corner – Chris

·  Review of the Longview Show – See e-mail – Set-up & Tear-down went well.

·  The plans for setup helped & went well

·  The S Garland Library Show is Aug. 21st to Aug 24th

·  The Carrollton Show will be Oct. 25th to Oct. 27th

·  Plans for the Frisco Show are still not known.

Next Club Setup

Richardson Civic Center show: June 7, 8, 9

·  Setup: Friday, 7th 8:00a-6:00p

·  Saturday: 8th, 9:00-6:00 (Public 10-4)

·  Sunday: 9th, 10:00-8:00 (Public 10-4)

·  Teardown: 9th, from 4:00-8:00

·  Stanchions will not be used and signs (No Touching / No Running) will be used.

·  Club meeting will not be held

·  Things to look out.

·  No platforms, chairs, baskets to stand on. Club liability and possibility of injury and damage to the layout.

·  Security on at least two corners to prevent theft and damage. Keep an eye on kids and adults.

New Member Recruitment – Dane & Shawn

·  No new member prospects from the Longview show.

Committee and Project Reports:

North Texas Council – Dave

·  Results of Plano Show. – Attendance was good but not great.

·  The Payout amount for our 2 shares was $1070.00

·  We will again get 2 shares for 2013-14.

DCC – Glenn

Plans going forward

·  Six Switch-its to be completed at the Richardson Show.

·  Macros have been written but not added to the system yet.

HOn3 DCC – Leonard

·  NG performance at Longview was great

·  We will isolate modules for quick troubleshooting

·  Remove hump between modules 21 and 22 after Longview.

·  Add passing siding on module 23 & 22.

·  We will not form a new NG committee.

·  Status of modules 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and the NG bridge.

o  Mike is working on new designs.

o  Module 28 frame is built.

o  Module 27 wood is cut for the frame.

o  Mike will be using Micor instead of Homasote.

Form New Bridge Committee

·  Members of the new Committee

·  What type of bridge will work best?

o  Drop (favored by Leonard at this time)

Form New Module Leg Locking Committee

·  We will not form a new Leg Locking committee at this time but Kevin Buchanan will look into finding a solution

Radio Committee Report – Bill

·  The radios worked well in Longview, members are starting to use them like real railroaders.

·  There are a number of headphones left but spoken for.

·  We will order new headphones and get 2 extra which was passed by the club.

Operations – Jim

·  Jim has many plans for operation at the Richardson show.

·  He would like to have everyone participate.

·  An engineers run would be 3 laps.

·  The engineers would set out cars on the first lap and pick them up on a later lap.

·  A dispatcher position would be established.

·  The dispatcher would use a headphone and Hank described his duties and his use of the radio to control movement.

·  Discussion of possible Club function at the Jefferson Train Days show which would include:

  1. Jefferson Historical Museum
  2. Historic Jefferson Railway
  3. Jay Gould Car
  4. Transportation Center (Model Train Displays & Layouts)

·  Don’t forget to sign up for the NMRA - Lone Star Region Convention.

o  Wednesday May 29th to Sunday June 2nd 2013, in Irving, TX.

o  There will be tours of The UP Davidson Yard, and the BNSF Headquarters both on Friday May 31st.
