Approach to Sculling, Regattas etc – Sean Sinclair
Sean provided an overview of the best way forward for coaching, entering regattas etc. It was highlight that moving forward it would be good to form crews that row on a regular basis together. This obviously does require a level of commitment from the children.
A brief discussion took place on what regattas we wished to enter but no formal conclusion was reached.
Action: Sean to review the list of regattas and confirm which ones would be good to enter as a group.
Action: All parents to confirm if their child wishes to row in the regattas and if anyone has not completed the physiological questionnaire please speak to Andy Bright.
Ray outlined the need for a further coach. It was suggested that we seek a further coach that could visit the club periodically (i.e. once a month), and also to cover for Sean’s holidays etc.
Action: Sean and Andrew to try and find a coach for this role.
Action: Andy Bright to try and get on a level 2 coaching course.
It was discussed that we should review the number of safety boats out on the water and if necessary have 2 out as all times. We do have provision for this.
Action: Tim to speak to the Sailing Club and confirm we can have 2 safety boats out on the water.
