(Prereq: DMA 010-050 or MAT 070 & DRE 098)

Place into ENG 111 – Writing & Inquiry
(Prereq: DRE 098 or RED 090/ENG 090)
Sciences (2 sciences total) (Must be completed by March 1st of the admitting year)
If student has 2 high school science classes (BIO and CHM) with a “C” or better, sciences are not required. Refer to counselor interview sheet. If this requirement has not been met, then student can complete the below options:
BIO 110-Principles of Biology OR
BIO 111-General Biology I
(BIO 112 is optional but BOTH 111/112 are suggested for transfer students)
OR
CHM 090 or higher level chemistry class
(Prereq: none)
OR
PHY 110-Conceputal Physics & PHY 110A (lab) (Prereq: none)
GPA Requirements
2.0 GPA on college coursework or 2.0 high school GPA if college coursework has not been completed

Check off list: Deadline to apply and have all admission items completed is March 1, 12 noon of the admitting year. Please review our admission policy for additional information at www.johnstoncc.edu. The College reserves the right to extend the application deadline when warranted.

_____A minimum grade of “C” in two science courses in high school or college (biology and advanced biology, chemistry, physics, or the equivalent). Suggestions: BIO 110 or CHM 090 or CHM 131 or PHY 110/110a can be used to meet one of the science requirements if requirements are not met in high school. BIO 165/168 or BIO 166/169 will not meet this requirement.

_____Place into ENG 111 and MAT 143.

_____Cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
