This course is an old class that is no longer taught.

New Business:

1.  ACCT P110

The department will be reducing units from 4 units to 3 units. The recommendation is not a new recommendation, but has not been added to the catalog.

2.  ACCT P120

The department will be reducing units from 4 units to 3 units.

Motion: To approve ACCT P110 and ACCT P120.

M/S/C: Knutson/Hargis

3.  CHDV P110

Mary Jo Jordan provided the curriculum members with a Child Development Permit Matrix from the State. Students must apply through the State, not Porterville College. She is in the process of developing a Master Teacher Certificate for Porterville College. Mary Jo is not adding any new courses; she is streamlining the certificates to follow the State guidelines. Jon Satko noted that the courses are stand alone since they are not required for any certificate or degree. Miles said the course should not be designated UC transferable. Miles added that the course is Associate Degree applicable so it is not stand alone. Jon Satko will correct CHDV P110, CHDV P11, and CHDV P115.

4.  CHDV P111-see above

5.  CHDV P115-see above

Motion: To approve the courses with changes discussed.

M/S/C: Vega/Knutson

6.  Bret suggested that courses be reviewed at different stages. That would help with the volume of courses that Division Chairs review at one time. Jon Satko suggested divisions review courses at the three year mark or stagger them in some way. It would be up to the Divisions to determine when to review courses. Porterville College is on a four year review cycle.

Old Business:

1.  ENGL P050-Course pending division CNET submission as basic skills. Implementation fall 2012.

2.  ENGL P052-Course pending division CNET submission as basic skills. Implementation fall 2012.

Other:

Jon Satko showed the committee a course that he entered and some of the errors or omissions he has seen. Miles pointed out that the catalog description should also be updated and remove any wording that does not apply. Jon Satko launched two Physics classes but they are no longer in CNET.

Adjournment: Jon Satko adjourned the September 27, 2011 meeting at 3:41.
