INTERCEPTOR IMPROVEMENTS

The Town of Suffield, Connecticut, acting by and through the Water Pollution Control Authority invites Bid Proposals for access road improvements along the Stony Brook Interceptor, erosion control and protection and restoration of the northern bridge abutment as detailed in the plans titled "Stony Brook Interceptor, Suffield, CT, March 2016". Sealed Bids will be received at the Suffield Water Pollution Control Authority, 844 East Street South, Suffield, CT 06078 at 11:00 AM on April 28, 2016 at which time all bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Sealed bids must have outer envelope marked as "Interceptor Improvements - Stony Brook, Town of Suffield, Connecticut, March 2016, Bid Enclosed".

The work for the Interceptor Improvements Project generally consists of:

1.  Construct barrier along the southern boundary of Stony Brook where accumulated sediment is likely to enter the Brook. Proposed barriers include coir logs and siltation fences, which are minimally intrusive measures.

2.  Restore the northern abutment of the North Interceptor and secure with riprap.

3.  Place riprap around the Stony Brook Interceptor piers where erosion is observed.

4.  Regrade the access way low point to promote positive drainage and replace the surface with stone.

Bidding Documents may be examined at the office of Woodard & Curran, Inc., 1699 King Street, Enfield, CT 06082 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, legal holidays excluded. An electronic version (PDF Format) of the Bidding Documents may also be obtained by contacting Woodard & Curran directly at the contact information listed below. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bid Package shall be submitted via e-mail at the contact information listed below. Questions will not be accepted after 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Suffield WPCF located at 844 East Street South at 9:00 AM on April 12, 2016.

All bidders shall furnish with their Bid a guaranty in the form of a bid bond, cash, or certified check, treasurer’s check or cashier’s check issued by a responsive bank or trust company, in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid and made payable to the Town of Suffield, CT. Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the contract price, will be required of the Successful Bidder.

No Bid may be withdrawn within thirty (30) days after the date of the opening of bids, excluding weekends and legal holidays. Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids, or to accept any Bid which in their opinion, is in the public interest to do so.
