I’m writing to ask for approval to attend the Advanced Rigging & Lifting Workshop June 17-19, 2014 in Edmonton. This event is an interactive crane and rigging training workshop addressing the planning, execution, and logistics of heavy rigging, load handling, and lifting activities. At a total cost of less than $1.700 including travel and lodging, it's the most targeted approach to educating our organization regarding heavy rigging and lifting oversight, delivered by true industry experts.

This training workshop will deliver incredible value. I’ll be learning from industry experts like Mike Parnell, Vice Chair of the ASME B30 Committee that sets standards for cranes and rigging equipment and activities. He is also the Chairman of the ASME P30 Standard – a brand new standard, which will be released in 2014, regarding Lift Planning.
I’m currently working on ways to reduce expenses, including hotel discounts, ride sharing, and meals with vendors. I’ll also submit a post-conference report that will include executive summary, major takeaways, tips, and a set of recommendations to maximize our current lifting activities. I can also share relevant information with key personnel throughout the company with the training workbook and materials I will receive at the Workshop.
