Essay Preparation:
Directions: Students will prepare to write a short essay answering each of the following questions; on the day of the test, two of the questions will be chosen randomly to be answered. Each chosen question will be answered on a separate sheet of notebook paper, in pen. Credit for each answer will be awarded based on: depth of knowledge; completeness of answer; and quality of presentation. Each answer will receive a separate grade.

4. Explain the election process for presidential candidates. Begin with the primaries and end with the swearing-in ceremony of the new president.
