Interviews for the Public Art Master Plan. The council interviewed the three finalists for the Duluth Public Art Master Plan. It was decided that GG Getz, Vanessa Boggs and Marsha Anderson Bomar would be the three DPAC members to conduct the interview questions. All of the interviews were scheduled for an hour and to be conducted on Skype; they were as follows:

5:15pm Designing Local

6:30pm Go Collaborative Public Art Collaborative

7:45pm Urban Rock

All of the candidates were asked the same following questions:

1)  Explain your approach on involving Duluth’s diverse communities/neighborhoods in the Public Art Master Plan process? Provide examples of past innovative community outreach methods.

2)  Currently Duluth does not have a readily available indoor venue for the performing arts. How will this affect the master plan and what approach you will take to compensate for this situation?

3)  In addition to sculpture and paintings, what other types of art do you consider relevant to this project? Provide two or three examples.

4)  Explain the process, strategy or approach you will use to identify realistic funding sources for implementing the Public Art Master Plan? Provide examples that you have utilized to implement other public art master plans.

5)  Provide us with your approach to managing this project from a distance?

6)  The RFP states that you will attend 5 meetings; 2 council meetings and 3 DPAC meetings. What plans do you have in place and how will you address these meeting requirements?

7)  How many other projects will you be working on in addition to ours?

8)  If you are awarded the contract, when would you start on the project?

9)  What is the most innovative part of your process?

10) What elements within the Duluth Public Art Master Plan will help us become a destination for tourism and visitors?
