DEPARTMENT OF TEACHER EDUCATION

PATTOM COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, OHIO UNIVERSITY

ADOLESCENT TO YOUNG ADULT EDUCATION & MULTIAGE

MASTER OF EDUCATION (M.Ed.) with OHIO LICENSURE

Purpose of the Program

The graduate program in Adolescent to Young Adult (AYA) & Multiage education leading to licensure recognizes and reflects both national and state trends that provide alternative routes to teacher licensure. The program permits the student to receive a master's degree and complete teacher licensure requirements at the graduate level. It recognizes that post-baccalaureate students often have background experience relevant to the classroom and therefore can benefit from graduate study leading to licensure rather than enrolling in an undergraduate licensure program.

Admission Procedures

For admission information, please see graduate student admission guidelines at the Graduate College website:

Transition Points for the Program

The AYA & Multiage masters programs monitor candidate progress at several transition points prior to application for graduation. At each level, candidates submit a designated application in anticipation of review and approval for advancement to the next level.
