Thanks for your interest in becoming a tour guide! Admission tour guides play a crucial role in our year-long recruiting process. You may remember from you own experience theimpact that tour guideshave on your impression of a college. As an admission tour guide and you will not only meet, greet and impress hundreds of eager students and their families, but you will also gain valuable experience in public speaking.

The job entails zero to three hours of work per week, depending on the time of year. Guides are paid $8.75/hr in the first year, and $9.00/hr in subsequent years. Guides give campus tours or join members of the admission staff in group information sessions about the College. The schedule for tour and information sessions changes throughout the year and can be found here:

Tour guides should be articulate and energetic, convey a high-level of enthusiasm about the college, and be willing to share broadly about the experiences of students at Williams.

We will invite a subset of applicants for an interview upon reviewing their applications. Interviews will take placeduring the first week of spring semester. Please note that paid work will not begin until the fall of 2012. Newly hired guides will attend several training sessions in the spring semester, and also be expected to give Previews tours for admitted students as part of their training (guides will be paid for training and Previews tours.)New guides will be added to the regular tour schedule in the fall of 2012.

Please note that all job offers will be contingent upon selected students being in good academic and disciplinary standing throughout their tenure at Williams. We reserve the right to rescind job offers based on academic or disciplinary concerns.
