Administrative Regulations for Foreign Scholars lodging atNational Cheng-Chi University
Approved by resolution of the 19th Executive Council on January 6th, 1960.
Amended and approved by the 606th Administrative Meeting on March 7th, 2007.
Article 1. These Regulations were formulated by the National Cheng-Chi University (hereinafter referred to as the “University”) to enhance international academic exchange and facilitate lodging of the foreign scholars in the employee dormitories.
Article 2. The foreign scholars mentioned herein refer to such salaried scholars, visiting, exchange, associate or assistant professors, or scholars at the equivalent rank as are invited from overseas for short-term lectures or research.
Article 3.Any foreign scholar who needs to lodge in the employee dormitory shall submit an application together with the engagement letter issued by the employing organization or approval document issued by the university and the information about the accompanying family members. He/she will check in after the application is approved by the President. Such application will be accepted till the quota is exhausted.
The employing organization which is approved to use the employee dormitories for lodging the foreign scholars shall help the lodger sign the Lease according to the regulations to finalize the lease procedure.
Article 4. The lodging period is limited by the engagement period, and the lodger shall check out within two weeks after the expiration of the engagement period.
During the lodging period, the lodger in the employee dormitory shall be responsible to keep the furniture and facilities in good condition and to compensate for the damages caused by improper keeping or use thereof, if any.
Article 5. In principle, the scholars who come with their family members shall lodge in the multi-room dormitories, and the single scholars in the single-room dormitories.
Article 6.Lodging in the multi-room foreign employee dormitories is restricted to the scholars and their family members, and lodging in the single-room foreign employee dormitories is restricted to the scholars themselves. The lodgers shall not sublet and lease the dormitories to others; otherwise, the violators will be deprived of the lodging rights and be held responsible for any adverse consequences.
Article 7.The University is entitled to assign staffers to inspect the usage of the foreign employee dormitories.
Article 8.The cleaning, tranquillity and safety of the foreign employee dormitories shall be maintained by common efforts of all the lodgers.
Article 8.1. During their lodging in the dormitories, the foreign scholars shall be charged according to the following standards:
1. Management fees:
(1) Multi-room single-unit employee dormitory: six thousand four hundred new Taiwan dollars per month.
(2) Multi-room multi-unit employee dormitory: four thousand eight hundred new Taiwan dollars per month.
(3) Two-room-suite employee dormitory: three thousand two hundred new Taiwan dollars per month.
(4) Single-room employee dormitory (studio): one thousand six hundred new Taiwan dollars per month.
2. Lodgers shall be charged for telephone, water, electricity and gas according to the following standards:
(1) Lodgers in the multi-room dormitories shall pay the expenses actually incurred by month.
(2) Lodgers in the single-room dormitories shall be charged eight hundred new Taiwan dollars per month for the water, electricity, gas consumed, and pay the telephone expenses actually incurred by month.
3. Payment:
(1) As for the lodger who has registered a bank account with the University, the cashier will deduct the amount from his/her salary on a monthly basis.
(2) The lodger who has not registered a salary account shall settle the amount at the Cashier Section or request the employing organization to help with the payment of the expenses. Anyone who defaults in the payment for two months or above shall be pressed for payment of the overdue amount and deprived of the right for lodging in the dormitory.
The above-mentioned management fees may be discounted in consideration of the actual circumstances upon approval by the President.
Article 9.These Regulations and the amendment thereof shall be promulgated by the President after being approved by the Administrative Meeting.
