FAQ’s for the score table

  1. Can I lower the weight I called?
  1. No! Once you call your weight you cannot lower it, unless it is a 3rd attempt deadlift and the bar has not been loaded at that weight yet.
  1. Can I change the weight I called?
  1. No! The one exception is the Deadlift. You can change you 3rd deadlift 2 times up until the time that your load is called by the head judge.
  1. Can I have a 4th attempt?
  1. Only if you are trying to set a world record and there are 3 international judges present to officiate.
  1. What is the smallest increase I can call?
  1. Normally the smallest increase is 2.5 kilos but, if you are setting a record you can call loads as small as 0.5 kilos more than the current record. However, any loads smaller than 2.5 kilos will not count toward your total.
  1. Why do I have to call my next weight so quickly?
  1. The rules state that you have 60 seconds after the completion of your last lift to call your next load. This rule is to ensure that the meet keeps moving efficiently.
  1. If I totaled the same as a competitor who will win?
  1. The lighter lifter would win in the case of a tie. If both lifters weighed the exact same weight then both lifters are reweighed AFTER the meet and whoever is lightest would win. If both STILL weigh the same they would share the place.
  1. Who can score points for a team?
  1. Only those lifters, up to 12 for men and up to 11 for women, who were designated by the coach BEFORE the start of the meet will be eligible to score team points.
