Please give reasons why you need to stay up after the end of term for recommended reading (continue over the page if necessary). In particular the College needs to know why this reading cannot be undertaken at home and, if not, the reasons why: such as difficulty in working at home because of the absence of internet access or library facilities. Please note that 14 days is the maximum grant allowed in an academic year. Priority is given to undergraduates who have exams in 9th week. The grant is set at £10 per day and will be given as a credit on batels. You will be liable for any extra costs associated with your period of additional residence.

In certain circumstances you may be eligible for a reduction in room rent for this period but only if you can satisfy your tutor that this is work that cannot be undertaken at home. This reduction in rent will not apply to undergraduates with tenancies unless the period of vacation residence exceeds the length of the lease.

n.b. Additional residence grants cover the period from Saturday of 8th week – Wednesday of following 0th week. Do not include any dates outside of this period.

Please note that you must make a separate application to the Domestic Bursar for vacation residence.
