Adam Paul Williams Aims to Lead Today S Church in Worship. the Focus of My Latest Project

Adam Paul Williams aims to lead today’s church in worship. “The focus of my latest project is on the one who makes worship possible, Jesus Christ. I want people to sit down and close their eyes and sense that they are at the throne of Christ.

“People get lost as they listen to what the world tells them. We need to focus on eternal things and not on things that fade away. My music is for the hearts of those who seek the truth, the truth that we are not marked by worldly standards, the truth that we are not bound by society’s grip, but the Truth that only comes when we enter into the presence of Jesus Christ.”

That is the end toward which Adam Paul Williams has worked. Since age 4, Williams has known music was his true calling. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas with a degree in music and kinesiology, he connected with a producer in Nashville and co-wrote songs for an independent album.

That opportunity led to full-time ministry as a solo artist and has taken Williams across the country and around the globe leading worship at churches. Early on Williams toured primarily through the South-East states but has since toured across the country. He has also performed two tours in Europe spending time in both London and Stuttgart, Germany. In 2010 he was featured at First Baptist Church in Atlanta with Dr. Charles Stanley and In Touch Ministries. This past Christmas his first Christmas single, a cover of , “We Are the Reason,” was added to the holiday rotation at KLTY/Dallas.

Adam Paul Williams pursues a passion and call to lead people in contemporary praise and worship. “I’ve never known anything else in my life and I know this is where God has called me to be. I know when I look at the faces of people who talk to me after a concert and pour out their stories, that I’m right where God wants me. I receive emails from people telling me that my music helped them through chemo or was part of a healing process for those who lost loved ones. Those are the times when I know that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be,” he says.

“People, inside and outside the church, get caught up in what the world tells them, lies like we can’t be free in our religion or that our jobs, money and status are what’s most important in life. I hope that my music in some way lets people know that there is something greater than anything going on in today’s world.”

Williams also recently became involved with the work of Compassion International. “After four years of solely doing music ministry, I felt I should get involved in another aspect of God’s work. I wanted to be a part of something that was outside my element of music, like Compassion.

I knew about Compassion but it popped back into my mind after reading Matthew 25:34-40.”

Williams and his wife recently visited their sponsored child, 6-year-old Gerson, in Guatemala City, Guatemala. “When we stepped off the bus, he immediately ran to us and jumped into my arms. He just said, ‘Thank you so much for everything. You are a blessing.’ Then as we walked about with him and his father, instead of playing and talking about kid things, he asked us about our jobs, family, and life here back in the States. As much as we care about his life and wellbeing, we are truly on his mind as well. He wanted to make sure that we both were doing well.”

The trip to Guatemala changed Williams’ perspective on daily life and eternal life. “It’s funny how we do so many small things here that we don’t really need. Being able to recognize these small details in life is how my life has changed. Maybe I don’t need to spend an extra $38 dollars per month at a restaurant. I can use that money to teach children, through Compassion, how to cook for themselves and their families.”

“I have a deep passion to have a closer walk with God after seeing how much these children love the Lord. They have nothing, but understand what it means to have everything. When we truly have a relationship with the Lord, we can live knowing that our life here on earth is just a temporary struggle. These children have helped remind me of that truth.”
