Job Title / DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Purpose of Role / To take responsibility for the overall look, feel and relevance of CILEx Group’s web and microsites, ensuring web content is visualy appealing, up-to-date, and easy to find.
Day-to-day liaison with external suppliers for project management purposes, and work with internal clients and project teams to determine and deliver their digital requirements.
Proactively support Sitecore web CMS users across the business to write clear, concise digital content appropriate for the web sites, and provide them with training and support on using Sitecore CMS
Lead on the department’s involvement in the CRM review and help identify any implications arising out of the CMS project.
Act as the in-house digital analytics lead, reporting monthly on key trends and making recommendations. Tracking other communications campaigns to measure results and evaluating the impact of all online activity (web, emails, social media), making recommendations for improvement.
Advising on the adoption and deployment of new media content and technical platforms, such as video, webinars, online events tools etc
All projects to be delivered on time and within budget.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Activities /
  • Act as team’s digital champion, representing the team in internal and external discussions and working groups exploring digital suppliers and systems upgrades (CMS, CRM etc.).
  • Develop and implement a Digital Communications Strategy in conjunction with the Director of Communications and Marketing and Head of Group IT and other key stakeholders that supports the Group’s business plan
  • Oversee and project managethe implemntation, migration and delivery of websites/microsites using SitecoreCMS, and development of high quality content in conjunction with colleagues.
  • Ensure the effective execution of the new SitecoreCMS platform and ensure that all microsites are mobile-friendly and fit for the evolving digital environment.
  • Day to day project management of external suppliers, and reporting of issues to said suppliers.
  • Work with external and internal suppliers to design and develop new web templates as required. Test online environments prior to the launch and deployment of new websites or microsites.
  • Manage relationships and work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure the achievement of project deliverables within agreed time and resource allocations.
  • Roll out SitecoreCMS training and best practice to colleagues across the organisation. Support web CMS users to write clear, concise digital content appropriate for the web sites.
  • Increase CILEx and CILEx Regulation visibility as a brand by working with colleagues to place high-quality, engaging content on our own and third party web sites.
  • Oversee and advise on the communications strategy for new potential customer data acquired through web channels, and utilise e-newsletters and other comms channels to help inform, persuade and convert these contacts into customers. Track and report on the success of these campaigns.
  • Work with the internal colleagues to create and maintain engaging membership e-communication cycles for existing and potential members.
  • Ensure forums, SIGs and similar outlets comply with expectations of behaviour as well as company positioning.
  • Ensuring e-communications are planned and synchronised with other communications channels.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of all online activity with the use of Google Analytics and other analytics tools and producing regular reports on this activity.
  • Developing and managing the strategic use of new media content on the corporate website, such as video and webinars etc.
  • Ensure all digital communications are in line with agreed corporate guidelines, tone of voice and digital design best practice.
  • Monitor departmental budget spend on digital activity.
  • Develop and manage the overall strategic plan for social media, for implementation across the authorised users.
  • Advise on the production and distribution of external e-newsletters for a range of audiences (members, apprentices, centres, enquirers etc).

Specification / Essential / Desirable
  • Graduate or equivalent
  • Significant CMS experience
  • Training and guiding others in CMS deployment and digital marketing usage
  • Experience of managing web migration exercises
  • Previous experience of using a CRM database.
  • Previous experience of Copywriting for web
  • Ability to assess analytics and provide the organisation with monitoring reports to help guide future digital strategy
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • Good communication skills/team player
  • Ability to multi-task and achieve very tight ‘same-day’ deadlines.
  • Excellent IT Skills including MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent levels of written English
