Ace High All Star Cheerleading

& Ace Gymnastics Club Constitution

As of January 2017

  1. Name

The name of the organisation shall be Ace High All Star Cheerleading & Ace Gymnastics Club.

  1. Colours

The Cheerleading colours shall be hot pink, black & white.

The Gymnastics colours shall be royal blue and black.

  1. Aims & Objectives

The objective of the Club shall be:

(a)To provide a safe environment for members to participate in cheerleading & gymnastics

(b)To develop sport by:

(1)Encouraging participation in activities

(2)Providing members with suitable competition

(3)Assisting members to improve their personal sporting standards

(4)Organising cheerleading and gymnastic competition & displays locally, nationally and internationally

(5)Providing equal opportunities for successful participation by all sections of the community

  1. Affiliation

The Cheerleading club shall be affiliated to Irish Cheer Sport Assoc the Governing body of USASF

The Gymnastic club shall be affiliated to the national Governing Body namely the Irish Gymnastics Association

  1. Membership

All members are subject to the Constitution of the Club and the regulation of the local and national Governing Bodies. All applications for membership are to be forwarded on the appropriate membership form,accompanied by the appropriate subscription fee, to the Director or Secretary. Those received will be forwarded onto waiting list and called when availability is free.

The Management Committee may reject an application for membership without giving any reason to the applicant.

Membership will be divided into two categories:

Junior Membership - 4-15 years

Senior Membership – 16 + years

  • Chair – Director
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Children’s officers
  1. The Chair, who shall be the sole director of the club will chair regular meetings up to 4 a year – 1 every 3 months in regard to the progress of the club and inform all others of progression.

The Chair will appoint a Secretary, Treasurer and Children’s Officer

  1. The chair will ensure responsibility for the safe custody of all records and any other records left in their custody.

The Chair will maintain all correspondence and respond to correspondence efficiently.

  1. The Secretary will take notes of all the business conducted at the meeting. These minutes will be read & signed off at the beginning of the next meeting.
  1. The Secretary & Chair will be responsible for updating, monitoring and submission of information as and when necessary to the Irish Gymnastics Association and the Irish Cheer Sport Assoc and any other agencies.

The Secretary & Chair will have responsibility for the managing the administration of Club Membership application forms and waiting list.

11The Chair/Secretary will not be responsible for information not received by parents/guardians who have not advised the Club of a change in personal details including postal address, phone numbers etc

12All emergency number and medical information is to be available at the Club in the event of an emergency arising.

13The Treasurer will ensure that all receipts and disbursements are properly recorded and that proper accounts of all financial matters are maintained. The Treasurer will ensure correct account reconciliation on a monthly and annual basis.

14 The Treasurer will have the responsibility of organising the Club’s insurance policy both for Public Liability, Club equipment and Personal cover.

15The Chair will work with others to maintain responsibility for promoting the Club’s activities, build a relationship with the media, keeping positive towards the club future, and be enthusiastic ambassadors for the club

16The director will appoint a Children’s Officer and Designated Children’s Officer to promote awareness of the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s sports among young members and their parents/guardians. They will ensure that all parents and children are aware of the appropriate adults to make representation to if they need to do so.

17Positions will be voted onto their posts, nominated and seconded onto the committee. This position lasts 2 years. There needs to be the director, secretary or treasurer in attendance to make the quorum up. If not a further meeting will be arranged with the secretary contacting all with 10 days’ notice

18The director will manage the club while the officers of the committee will have direct input in the running and organisation of the club. The directors say is final after taking all other concerns into consideration.

19 An AGM will be held each year to bring in the financial business of fundraising plus a report from the director/secretary/treasurer. The AGM will be held in January each year

20The club logo will remain the intellectual property of Ace High All Stars Cheerleading & Ace Gymnastics club.

21The annual membership fee, incorporating individual membership to club, insurance both public liability & personal, club merchandise. Those who are affiliated to both Cheerleading & Gymnastics will have to pay a higher registration as they have 2 separate insurance policies & separate governing bodies to become members to.

22The club will promote best practice in children’s sport. The club shall comply with the guidelines contained in the ‘Code of Ethics’ & and ‘Good practice for children’s sports in Ireland’

23Any member who believes the conduct of another member is contrary to the Constitution of the Club, the club rules or the Code of Conduct or anyone who is likely to put the club name into disrepute may inform the director, secretary or treasurer

24A separate disciplinary advice committee will meet up no later than 10 days after the complaint and follow through the complaint detail. Any parties may speak individually to the committee about the complaint and its complexities. The director will have the last say on the circumstances and outcome of the complaint - and so will inform both parties of the final decision made and the outcome for both parties

25 The committee when required will apply for loans to supply and support the club in a way that benefits the club and its athletes.
