Role: Head of Operations

Accountable to:Vice Principal, Partnerships Apprenticeships and Enterprise

Accountable for:Apprenticeship direct delivery, Subcontracting Partnerships, Apprenticeship Quality Assurance and Improvement, Partnership contractual management

Providing leadership and direction for the ongoing development of direct delivery of apprenticeship provision, subcontracting partnerships, strategic partnerships, quality of all provision within Partnerships, Apprenticeships and Enterprise. Support the development and deployment of the collegeapprenticeship delivery strategies.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of cross college policies and plans

  • Design standardised operating processes and procedures
  • Develop quality assurance operations for all apprenticeship and work based provision

  • Ensure robust audit and compliance procedures in operation
  • Ensure that policies/procedures relevant to the post-holder’s responsibility are in place and meet legislative and best practice requirements
  • Ensure that the management and development of the provision including delivery of programmes is of the highest standard and that the curriculum meets the needs of the business, employers and learners
  • Identify the financial, health and safety, equality, confidentiality or other risks associated with the post’s sphere of responsibility and to draw concerns as they arise to the attention of the Line Manager.
  • Integrate with the delivery and administration teams within the department and to those within the core College
  • Lead the harmonisation and centralisation of apprenticeship and work based provision
  • Manage a range of projects as required including directly managing under -performing areas
  • Manage a team of staff including the provision of support and staff development to ensure departmental success
  • Manage and monitor business planning, delivery and quality improvement activities of the team
  • Manage and oversee the performance and quality of partners
  • Oversee the workloads of staff, set and review performance targets and conduct staff annual performance review and performance management and monitoring
