Access Statement for Platts House

Introduction
Our self catering cottage is a 17th century stone built cottage attached to Platts House. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement. However, if you have any queries please call. We look forward to welcoming you.

Pre-Arrival
• We have a basic website
• Bookings / enquiries can be made via email or phone
• The nearest bus stop is 25 metres away
• The nearest train station is 4 miles away at Lydney. Chepstow train station is 6 miles away.
• We can arrange for shopping to be delivered on arrival
• We can provide information in large print on request

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• There is car parking space in the slightly sloping tarmac drive of Platts House.
• The entrance is reached through a gate - 115 cm wide, and down a step - 115 cm wide, 24 cm high

Main Entrance
• The path leading to the front door is 116cm wide. There is a step - 5cm high. The front door is 94cm x 194 cm. The key hole lock is 100cm high. The slight step over the door is 8cm high.
• The front door leads to an entrance porch, 115cm wide, 152cm long. There are double doors 96 cm wide which lead to the living room.

Lounge / Dining Room

• Flooring is short pile carpet
• There is a dining table, 75cm high with four dining chairs.
• There is a two seater sofa bed with arms.
• A remote control TV with freeview, video and dvd player are provided
• A step 8cm high and door 72cm wide leads to the kitchen.
• A door 65 cm wide leads to the staircase.
• The staircase is 78cm wide. The stairs are 78cm wide and 24cm deep. The staircase opens directly to the first floor bedroom.

Laundry
• a washing machine is provided in the kitchen
• an outdoor washing line is provided in the courtyard.

Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas
• King size bed provided. Height from floor to top of mattress is 67cm.
• Free space to right of bed 90cm, and to the left 65cm. Bed is moveable if more space required to one side, however this would restrict access to wardrobes or dressing table.
• Duvet and pillows are non feather. All bedding is cotton or poly cotton
• Flooring is short pile carpet
• A tempur neck care pillow is available

Shower-room
• The shower room is situated on the ground floor. Door to the bathroom is 66cm wide.
• Shower cubicle is 73cm x 117cm and is fitted with a sliding door and electric shower. The height of the shower is 150cm. The step to the shower is 28cm
• Toilet seat height 41cm. Space to the right of the toilet is 25cm, space to the left 9cm
• Pedestal washbasin height 83cm. The shaving point above the sink is 175cm high
• Limited free space available between the toilet, washbasin and shower.
• The floor is tiled
• There is a wall mounted heated towel rail.

Self-Catering Kitchen
• the kitchen has a range of base and wall units, and a tall larder unit. The height of the worktop and the sink is 92 cm.
• There is an electric oven with halogen hob. The hob is 90cm high the grill is 70cm high and the highest oven shelf 35cm.
• the fridge is under the work surface, with an icebox at the top.
• There is a washing machine under the work surface
• the floor is tiled

Grounds and Gardens
• There is a courtyard at the rear of the property accessed through the back door which is 75 cm wide. There is a step over the door - 9cm. The step down to the courtyard is 8cm high and 27cm deep.
• The courtyard is stone and cobbles and therefore is very uneven in places.
• A patio table and chairs and a bar-b-que are provided.

• The refuge and recycling area is to the front of the cottage
• The premises are non smoking
