Access Statement for Alice’s Cottage self-catering

Introduction

Alice’s Cottage is new stone build and plaster at the rear, surrounded buy hay meadows in Upper Weardale. The main access is at the front of the property with an additional back door at the rear.

We live at the farm house which is to the west of the cottage, our house is one of two and is the one with the B&B sign on the side of the front door.

Pre-Arrival

. The nearest bus stop is one mile away in the village of Cowshill.

. The nearest railway station Durham City. Is 35 miles away; there are accessible taxis at the station.

. We can arrange shopping to be delivered on arrival.

Arrival and car parking facilities.

The cottage is easy to reach accessible from the A689 on the right hand side of the road one mile from Cowshill. The farm track is tarmac. With one speed ramp 100 yds up the track. To unload outside the cottage is block paved with gradient 1in 50 parking for two cars. When unloaded parking is at the opposite side of the track and six cars can be parked .The surface is rough gravel.

Main entrance the cottage is all ground floors Public areas-General [Internal]

. The entrance at the front has no step and is 1-meter 980mm high and 910mm wide [The door opens to the left and the handle and has the key hole in the door handle at 1020mm high. It opens into a large entrance hall.

. Inside the front entrance is a corridor 1-meter 450mm wide that leads to the next door that opens to the left 840mm wide and 1 meter 980mm high.

. Décor is contrasting with skirting and doors through out. {Pine woodwork and magnolia and white walls} carpets are mustard lounge and coffee in the bedrooms. Tiles are terracotta.

. Fire and smoke alarm fitted.

. Open plan living area, corridor and kitchen.

Dinning and Kitchen area

. The dinning is open plan within the kitchen

. Round table {movable side to side and extends to seat six} central pedestal 680mm floor to the lowest point of the table (under space) 760mm highest.1 meter 60mm wide. Free space between table and walls, chairs moveable with no arms, there is a further desk chair in the bedroom if you need arms.

. Floor is a terracotta tile.

. Worktop height 940mm

. Oven Door is drop down, height of lowest shelf 430mm can be accessed from the side.

. Sink is a 940mm high with cupboards underneath.
