CourseDescription

Thistwo-daycontinuingmedicaleducationsymposiumwillcenteronthenutsandboltsofeverydaycareforpatientswithcardiovasculardiseases,andpresentnewideasfortailoringthemostappropriatetreatmentplanforeachindividual.Focuswillbeplacedongaugingandmonitoringtherapy,includingrecognizingsymptoms,evaluatingriskfactors,guidingtreatmentthroughimaging,generalandfunctionaltesting,andappropriatetherapy.Unlikemost programs, this will be delivered as a case-based approach. In other words, how wouldI manage a diabetic patient with these lipid levels? Case examples make the lectures morerelevanttoeverydaypractitioners.

Workingwiththemostcurrentdatafromrecentevidence-basedmedicinestudies,aswell asnewguidelines,theinvitedfacultywilldiscussoptionsforpatientswithcoronarydisease,peripheralvasculardisease,carotiddisease,valvularheartdisease,hypertension,atrialfibrillation,congestiveheartfailureandlifestyleriskreductionofcardiovasculardisease.

Ultimately,thegoalistoprovideanoverviewoftheoptimalmethodsandmanagementof theinformedphysician’spractice,andtodiscussanddebatetheexcitingoptionsonthehorizon.Wealsowillincludeworldexpertsincardiovasculardevicedevelopmentanddeliveryof healthcare tohelp usnavigate thisever-changingnew healthcare environment.
