As an affiliate of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Acadiana Society for Human Resource Management (ASHRM) works to provide continuing educational and networking opportunities to human resource professionals in the Acadiana area. As the world's largest association devoted to human resource management, SHRM strives to provide the most essential and comprehensive resources available to assist in making its members better prepared to contribute to the success of your business.
Each year ASHRM presents an award to the Human Resources Professional of the Year. Our society invites you to nominate individuals from your organization for this award. We ask you to take a moment to nominate the individual that you feel has made a significant contribution as a human resource professional to your organization, to the community, or to the profession in general. The deadline for submitting nominations is October 6, 2006.
The recipient of the ASHRM Human Resource Professional of the Year award wins a paid trip to the SHRM national conference, not to exceed a total of $2,000 for reasonable travel, hotel and registration expenses. This SHRM conference is to be held in Los Vegas, Nevada, June of 2007. This conference, with an expected attendance of over 15,000 human resource professionals, provides wonderful educational opportunities. ASHRM will also submit a press release to local media announcing the winner and the company affiliation. We will make the award presentation at our January meeting. Should your nominee be selected the winner, you as the owner/president, as well as the nominee’s supervisor, will be invited to attend the luncheon as our guest for the presentation.

Award Information
- Nomination forms must be received by October 6, 2006.
- The winner will be announced at the ASHRM Chapter meeting in January 2007.
- The award includes recognition at the January Chapter meeting, submission of a photo to the Daily Advertiser, a commemorative plaque, and a trip to the 2007 SHRM National Conference held in Los Vegas, Nevada in June 2007 (not to exceed at total value of $2,000 for reasonable travel, hotel, and registration expenses).
