The Conard Learning Center

Designed to provide a dynamic learning environment, the Conard Learning Center offers students the opportunity to maximize academic performance by offering tutoring in Math and Writing,as well as study groups for other courses by request. The Center offers many resources and services, computers, study rooms, and classrooms.

The Conard Learning Center houses the Math Lab and the Writing Center. The Math Lab promotes each student's success in mathematics through discussion, group study, and individualized assistance. Operated on a walk‑in basis, the Math Lab is staffed with qualified assistants who help students with math‑related questions. Individual appointments for math assistance can be made at the reception desk.

The Writing Center is also located in the Conard Learning Center. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to stop in or make an appointment to discuss assignments, papers, reports, résumés, letters, or other writing projects. The Writing Center tutors provide one-on-one consultations on written, oral, and electronic communication from all academic and professional disciplines.

The Office of Disability Services

The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is located in the Ovalwood279. ODS serves the special needs of students with documented disabilities.The Ohio State Mansfield campus encourages those with disabilities to utilize available services to maximize their performance and develop independence. Some of the services provided to students include test accommodations, access to textbooks on tape, access to class notes, priority scheduling, academic and disability awareness, access to adaptive equipment, interpreters, and disability parking. Academic Success Services

Located in Ovalwood 283, this office coordinates retention and other studentsuccess services.The Coordinator is the Early Alert contact point-person for faculty and also makes appointments with students to discuss time management, study skills, and organizational skills. Other services include the College Success Series workshops and coordinating the first-year experience.

The Bromfield Library and Information Commons

The Bromfield Library and Information Commons(BLIC) serves the faculty, staff, and students of Ohio State Mansfield and North Central State College, and occupies the ground floor of Conard Hall. The BLIC provides traditional library services, as well as various audio-visual, non-book services. The reference librarian helps faculty develop research strategies, locate sources, interpret citations, and assist in the development of on-line searching techniques for computer-based indexes. Staff can also assist faculty in obtaining materials not available in our collection. Materials that are requested can be sent to the faculty member’s office. The circulation staff will assist faculty in checking out materials from our collection and help faculty place materials on reserve (books/videos) in the library for controlled use by students. Books circulate to faculty and staff for 17 weeks, provided no one else requests use of the materials. Books circulate to students for six weeks. Audio-visual materials, including videos, DVDs, audio books, and CD-ROMs, circulate to faculty, staff, and students for one week. All periodicals and newspapers are non-circulating.

Provides the campus with access to physical materials and e-content through OSU campus libraries, OhioLINK, and SearchOhio. Research assistance, information literacy classes taught by a librarian, and technology assistance can be found in the BLIC. Special features include six group study rooms, the Learning Collaborative Classroom, access to 54 computers, a large format printer, a laminator, double-sided color printing, A/V checkout materials, portable dry erase marker boards, and a Keurig coffeemaker.
