Academic Staff Progress and Development Review (PDR) Document

This PDR discussion, offered to every member of Academic staff, is intended to be supportive and developmental. It provides an opportunity to reflect, according to the member of staff’s needs, on areas including: current and future work, career aims, additional contribution they may wish to make at the College, and to identify and agree any support, development or other resources required to assist them in the course of their work. This document provides a flexible structure to guide this discussion.

The Reviewer completes this document to:

a)Make notes of any general points from the PDR discussion, where you and/or the Reviewee find it useful to do so, and

b)Record in the relevant section below any agreed support, development or resources to be provided for the Reviewee.

Staff who plan to seek promotion, or Reviewers who intend to suggest the consideration of promotion, may find it useful to refer to promotion guidelines on the HR website (see ). (Please note that the PDR process is independent of the College’s promotion procedure).
