ACADEMIC BULLETIN: 5.1.2015

RE: PANAM/SMOKH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Preamble

A program to advance academic achievement in the monastic healing arts, we are proud to announce this formal debut. A pilot program from 2012-2015 has proven most successful and we therefore advance this invitation to healers, truth seekers, physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.

The scholarship program has these objectives:

  1. To preserve for posterity the monastic healing arts, not just by texts and documents, but by advance with practitioners in the field;
  2. To create an environment of academic scholarship and excellence by way of graduate research and papers;
  3. To provide a cost effective and economic exchange to welcome students from around the world.
  4. To obtain new Deacons, Ministers and Physicians in the Church of Hope.

In the tradition of Christendom and the Hospitallers at large, we consider such life advancement a noble and chivalrous activity. The first formal hospitals were monastic institutions largely organized by the Hospitallers of St. John and St. Lazarus which persisted from more than a millennia. The very first formal nurse training conferred upon graduates the title as Deaconess. We thus continue that tradition for the 21st century.

The Program

Should you so decide, you will be joining the Church of Hope as postulant (a candidate for admission) to become Deacon (Sanctified Healer). After a prescribed course of study, Deacons (and Deaconesses) are only admitted into clergy of special healing mission in a Church by a Minister or Bishop of the Church of Hope. These christenings are scheduled throughout the year on Nevis Island, the US, and Ecuador.

The Panam website has more than 100 courses online. Granted, a wide variety of courses on medical sciences, therapeutics, religion and metaphysics. We assume most interest is in the healing arts, we therefore recommend this approach:

  1. Practitioner of Natural Medicine program: a series of practical courses offering basic medical sciences and therapeutics. Of great service for entering postulants, as well as practitioners and physicians already in the field (as refresher courses). However, due to the unique materials, even MD’s have complemented the nature of these courses for their unique viewpoints and therapeutic principles.
  2. After completing the PNM program, the postulant can choose a variety of post-graduate programs:
  3. Doctor of Natural Medicine
  4. Doctor of Oriental Medicine
  5. Doctor of Homeotherapeutics
  6. Master of Herbology
  7. Doctor of Philosophy in Indigenous & Traditional Medicines
  8. Doctor of Philosophy in Sacred Medical Teachings
  9. Ecclesiastical Nursing (Deacon, Deaconess)
  10. Sanctified Healer (Deacon, Deaconess)

Where to begin?

The (one time) passage fee for confirmation of Deacon/Deaconess is $1000 (US). Postulants may begin the program at any time with a pledge of $500, with five additional monthly payments of $125 leading to PNM. Upon completion postulant should plan to attend a formal church investiture scheduled throughout the year and join the ranks of clergy.

Where to continue…

A Deacon/Deaconess may continue their studies by simply advancing with more courses with just a $125 monthly pledge. Students may work at their own pace since the courses are online and automated. We have hundreds of students on such programs for the last ten years. English speaking students are under the tutelage of Dean Dr. McWilliams, Spanish students are under the tutelage of Dean Dr. Jaramillo. Clinics and seminaries are scheduled throughout the year to provide hands-on experience in diagnosis and therapeutics.

Upon completion of the course of studies as doctorate or masters, candidate become eligible to Knighted.
