ABU DHABI HOSTS 290 TRAVEL AGENTS FOR DER TOURISTIK CAMPUS LIVE EVENT FROM GERMANY, AUSTRIA AND SWITZERLAND

Abu Dhabi U.A.E. 6 December, 2016: Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) today welcomes a delegation of 290 travel agents from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, visiting the emirate to attend the DER Touristik Campus Live Event, an incentive and training gathering that presents new travel programmes to agents from German-speaking markets. The event takes place in Abu Dhabi from 6-8 December 2016.

Organised by DER Touristik Group, a leading trade and tourism group based in Germany in partnership with TCA Abu Dhabi, the collaborative event aims to help boost visitor numbers from Germany, one of Abu Dhabi’s key European source markets. The event will include workshops, training sessions, round table discussions and familiarisation tour.

Commenting on DER Touristik Campus Live Event taking place in Abu Dhabi, Mubarak Al Nuaimi, Director of promotion & overseas offices, TCA Abu Dhabi said: “Hosting this event gives us the opportunity to directly speak to these industry influencers who can impact a market which is now one of the emirate’s largest overseas hotel guest source markets.”

“We will be looking to impress upon delegates while they are here the emirate’s outstanding leisure traveller potential and its mounting credentials within the meetings, exhibitions, conventions and exhibitions sector" he added.

Germany is one of Abu Dhabi’s key markets and the second largest source market from Europe after the UK. It has also been identified as offering excellent market growth potential.

Up until October this year 110,659 German guests have contributed 507,682 guest nights across the emirate and is now the eighth largest overseas source market.

TCA Abu Dhabi actively works in collaboration with its overseas offices to promote the emirate’s diversity of tourism and cultural assets, while constantly enhancing its relationships with key tour operators in markets contributing to its visitor numbers, thereby highlighting the modern infrastructure of the emirate to host Mice events.
