I abstracted these deeds involving members of the Hurst family from the microfilmed records of Deeds recorded in Claiborne County, Tennessee, Deed books A-K. The microfilm was part of the LDS Church collection.

Note: From Claiborne County, Tennessee Court Minutes 1821-1824, p.261:

“August 1823 Session – Deed from John Hurst to William Hurst for 30 acres proven by oath of William Bullard which was duly proven by and filed for further probate is fully proven at this time by oath of Tidence Lane, ordered to be registered.”

The reference to “filed for further probate” indicates this is the deed executed by John Hurst Sr., who died between May-November 1822. – Patrick Pearsey.

Nancy Hurst, for $1.00 from Hiram Hurst and John Hunt, gives her rights to 250 acres purchased by John Hurst from Joel Dobbs, located on Blair Creek where the Kentucky Road crosses it.
