About Arts & Health programme:
Arts & Health includes weekly activities like Singing for the Mind and Meet Me at the Maltings, projects such as My Shout and events like Refreshers: a festival of retirement. Projects in the pipeline also include Men in Sheds and Laughter workshops. The programmes are about encouraging people of all ages to engage with performing arts and craft making for their own wellbeing and for the benefit of Farnham; activities are often designed to tackle loneliness and social isolation, work with people who are living with dementia, support carers and provide activities for people overcoming mental ill-health.
About volunteer role:
This is a specific role for a volunteer to Support the running and development of the Farnham Maltings Arts & Health programme, including:
-Researching and creating an outreach database of health/social care contacts and organisations
-Writing regular Arts & Health emails or newsletters
-Writing short reports or online blogs of activities for the website
-Researching other arts and/or health organisations and initiatives locally
-Updating attendance registers, participant contact information and creating quarterly reports for funders
-Being an ambassador for Arts & Health programme and Farnham Maltings
-Welcoming members of the public to Arts & Health activities (occasional)
Person specification
Essential
-Interest in attending and/or participating in performing arts and/or craft making
-Computer literate (including excel, word, internet)
-Friendly and confident telephone manner
-Attention to detail
Desirable
-Knowledge and understanding of health care and/or social care systems in and around Farnham
-Experience in communications and marketing
-Strong writing skills (including experience of writing newsletters or blogs/online content)
When: Ideally 4 hours per week (9.30am-4.30pm, Mon, Wed or Thu). Could be one day a fortnight.
