Mrs. Naramore would like you to sign up your student now for Khan Academy.

This is a free educational website (read more about it at Our class will be using its resources. Mrs. Naramore will be our students’ Coach.

Signup will hopefully be easy if you print out and follow the detailed instructions I have tried to create. Post questions or issues to the class General Message Board, or contact me.

A.Sign up for your child’s Gmail Account

If your child doesn’t already have one, sign them up for a Gmail account at “.” We suggest you pick a Gmail username that they’ll remember and be happy with for a long time.

B.Sign up for your child’s Khan Academy Account

1.Go to the website “.”

2.At the top right of the screen, click on “Log in.”

3.In the Log in to Khan Academy with… box, click on “Google.”

You will be redirected to the Google Gmail website.

4.Sign in to your child’s Gmail account.

5.Click “Allow” to give Gmail permission to share info with Khan Academy.

Now you should be returned to the Khan Academy website.

An Intro will start. You may go through it or you may click “No thanks, I know what I’m doing.”

C.Set up your child’s Khan Academy Account
1.At the top right of the screen, rollover your child’s name and click “Visit Profile.”
2.Under your child’s name, click “Edit Profile” and then click “Edit Basic Info.”
3.Enter your child’s Real Name.
We suggest using just a last initial for security.
4.Enter a Username.
We suggest matching the Class Wiki name your child already chose to make it easy for Mrs. Naramore to recognize.
Your child’s Khan Academy username does not have to be same as their Gmail username.
5.Click “Save.”
D.Link your child’s Khan Academy Account
1.At the bottom of the left side menu, click “Coaches.”
2.In the fill-in box, type (make sure you type the email address exactly correct).
3.Click the “Add Coach” gray button.
4.If you’ve done it right, Mrs. Naramore’s email address should now appear on the right side under Your Coaches.
5.If you haven’t done it right, highlight the incorrect email address, click “Remove,” and do over.
E.Test your child’s Khan Academy Account
1.At the top right of the screen, rollover your child’s name and click “Logout.”
2.Now, log back in! You should be able to do this through Google (see above instructions).
3. Show your child how to do it for themselves.
