Local Charter School Robotics Teams Demonstrate Skills to County Leaders
Harmony Science Academy students score top two places in FIRST LEGO League Alamo Competition
LAREDO, Texas —Laredo’s Harmony Science Academy robotics teams received top awards at the FIRST LEGO League Alamo Competition in Laredo. Robotics team students, ages 9 to14 years old, will demonstrate their inventions to Webb County Commissioners at their meeting on Monday, February 10, at 9 a.m., at the Webb County Courthouse located at 5904 West Drive, No. 7, Laredo, Texas 78041. Media are invited to attend the meeting and see students show off their robots.
In the robotics qualifier, the CyberSharks team received “1st Place Overall Championship” in all areas of the competition and the Lego Lava Lords team received “2nd Place Overall Championship” in all areas of the competition. All Harmony Science Academy – Laredo robotics teams will compete in the State Regional Championship on February 26 in San Antonio. If the teams place first or second, they will move on to the World Championship Event taking place in St. Louis this April.
