Memorandum
January 23, 2004
To: County Treasurers and Staff
From: Peggy Stalcup, Assistant Manager Titles and Registrations
Subject: A.S./400 download of program modifications
A download will be occurring approximately January 26, 2004 that will include the program modifications for several reported problems. Those program changes are listed below for your review.
1. A re-issued title application cannot be accepted if the title is being held as an etitle. The lien release program must be used. The error message will read as follows: UNABLE TO PROCESS, E TITLE ON RECORD.
2. The mailroom renewal receipt copies will begin printing the number at the bottom of the receipt on the treasurer’s copy. Previously the number was being printed on the owner’s copy.
3. RV property tax was being added to the current year property tax instead of the current year recreational vehicle tax when using registration correction. The system has been corrected so the RV property tax will be added to the current year recreational vehicle tax on your collection report.
4. Property tax class codes will now be assigned on salvage title only applications.
5. When the county completes a title application using the add owner command to add the 4th or 5th owner and than uses the command 8 button to make application for a special plate, the 4th or 5th; owners names are held on all subsequent special plate orders unless you exit the special plate menu option. This has been corrected and you no longer need to exit the special plate menu option to clear additional names.
6. Verifications will now have the insurance information displayed on the tr-200 receipt.
7. When flagging a disabled record for delinquent property tax, the system will no longer require the birthdate and gender information before the entry can be accepted.
8. Whenever a sales tax number is being assigned on the system, the number will be displayed on the receipt and the compensating daily report. Currently, if there is no tax collected on a compensating tax transaction, a number is being used but not being displayed on the receipt or on the daily compensating transaction listing.
9. The monthly isolated report RV808c column entitled tax collected will now be deducting the amount paid to dealer. The paid to dealer amount will display only the amount that has been collected by a dealer and the tax collected will only display the actual amount of tax collected. You will no longer have to subtract the amount paid to dealer from the tax collected.
10. The system has been modified to charge the $1.00 registration penalty for heavy trucks trailers and buses on March 1st instead of February 16th.
11. The system has been modified to collect the proper transfer fees for disabled and aro plates on the screens, receipts and end of day reports.
12. Buses will no longer be charging penalties until March 1st. Currently there is a penalty being charged on all bus renewals regardless of application date.
13. The manual title application will no longer allow the option to waive penalties. If the penalty is not to be applied, you will need to remove the penalty fee amount from the screen.
14. The spelling has been corrected for the separator code lessor/lessee.
15. The daily and monthly sales tax report (Isolated, Resident and Compensating) columns have been expanded by 2 spaces to accommodate larger sales tax amounts collected by counties.
16. Some inquiry function wordings have been changed to read USE PAGE DOWN instead of USE ROLL-UP.
Please read your update version screens very carefully. If you do not believe you received the download, please call the support help desk at 785 296 1700 as soon as possible.
Thanks for your continued support and assistance. It is sincerely appreciated.
