RULES AND REGULATIONS

General

1)Approval for the display of banner, notices or posters must be sought from Student Affairs Office (SAO) beforeapplying for this permit.

2)Application for permit must be submitted to SAO at least one day before the actual display takes place, together with proof of approval.

3)The maximum period for display, inclusive of weekends and Public Holidays,are as follows:

a)Banners-7 days or till date of the event (whichever is earlier).

b)Posters-14 days or till date of the event (whichever is earlier).

4)The applicant or the student organization must remove all banners, notices or posters including strings and ropes within 24 hours after the approved period.

5)The applicant or the student organization must take all necessary precautionary measures to avoid damaging existing structure and fittings, or else pay for any damages.

6)The applicant or student organization must maintain the condition of the banners, notices or posters throughout the display period.

7)The applicant or the student organization must observe all safety aspects while hanging up and taking down banners/posters.

8)For a list of locations designated for display, please approach the staff at the counter.

9)For display at non-designated locations, please seek approval from relevant schools or offices.

10)Each designated location should have only one banner/poster displayed for each event, regardless of design.

11)Collateral must bear the name, venue and date(s) of the event, and the name of the organizer.

12)In case of violations, a fine of S$10.00 will be levied on the applicant or the student organization.

Banners

13)Banners must not exceed the size of 3m(L) x 1m (B). For banners larger than this size, approval by SAO must be clearly stated.

14)All banners must be securely erected so as not to obstruct both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

15)Banners are not to be mounted on the following locations:-

  • University building
  • Road or traffic signagesand road kerbs
  • Water tanks, pipes & ducts
  • Walkways, pavementsand between trees
  • Electrical installation boxes
  • Main roads like Nanyang Drive, Nanyang Crescent and Nanyang Avenue

Posters

16)The maximum size of posters allowed for display are as follows :

a)A4-sizeat general lift lobbies (excluding schools and departments).

b)A3-sizeat‘Con-Clubs’ or ‘Societies’ notice boards.

17)The maximum number allowed is 50 irrespective of the different designs available for an event.

18)Posters are not to be pasted/displayed at the following locations:-

  • Painted walls, glass Panels
  • Toilets, lifts
  • Doors, lecture theatres and tutorial rooms
  • Notice Boards of :- Lecture Theatres, Lunchtime Concert, Location Plan/Activities

19)Only blutack is allowed to attach posters at general lift lobbies. Strictly no double-sided tape.
