A RESOLUTION memorializing Robert McLean Nash.

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash was a revered resident of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, residing in Prospect, Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash was a retired chair of the Board of Glenmore Distilleries; and

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash was an eminently active member of his community and surrounding communities, participating in the Sons of the Society of Colonial Wars and the Filson Club, wherein he served as president; he was a board member of Actors Theater of Louisville, Downtown Development Corporation & Riverfields, Inc., and Wayside Christian Mission; and

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash was a member of many social clubs including the Fox Hound of Long Run Hunt, wherein he was the master for 15 years, the Pendennis Club, and the River Valley Club; and

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash was a veteran of World War Two, where he was a member of the United States Army, an offering of sacrifice of which we need to be ever-thankful, as those soldiers, and all soldiers, are the defenders of a free and democratic society and their sacrifices have, in fact, preserved our society in the past as well as in current times; and

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash was the loving and beloved husband of Mrs. Ida "Sissy" Nash; and

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash was the loving and beloved father of Margaret McLean Nash, Louise Farnsley Gardner, and Katherine Nash Cary; and

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash was a loving and beloved brother and grandfather; and

WHEREAS, Robert McLean Nash departed this life on October 28, 2005;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its most profound sense of sorrow and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Robert McLean Nash on the occasion of his passing.

Section 2. The Senate affirms that the acts of Robert McLean Nash were manifold and great, and that his works and the memories of his spirit will remain a faithful testament to him for years to come.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit ten copies of this Resolution to Mrs. Ida "Sissy" Nash, 12100 Highway 329, Prospect, Kentucky 40059.
