A RESOLUTION honoring Timothy D. Moore on the occasion of his promotion to the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve.

WHEREAS, Timothy D. Moore is a native son of Kentucky, having been born in Paducah and graduating from Tates Creek High School before a career in the United States Air Force led him around the globe; and

WHEREAS, at the age of 17, Timothy D. Moore entered the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechanics. Shortly thereafter he married his wife, Amy Zell, with whom he eventually raised four children; and

WHEREAS, Timothy D. Moore served in the United States Air Force as a pilot and instructor pilot, including stints at Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi, Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana, and Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas. He completed a Master of Science degree in Operations Management at the University of Arkansas while stationed at Little Rock; and

WHEREAS, after leaving active duty in 1998, Timothy D. Moore and his family returned to Kentucky, settling down in Hardin County. He became a pilot for United Parcel Service and continued to serve the military by flying with the Kentucky Air National Guard in Louisville; and

WHEREAS, his time with the Kentucky Air National Guard included deployments in Europe and the Middle East, as well as homeland defense missions after 9/11. Timothy D. Moore's unit was activated for a year in 2003, where he was deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, and his unit returned to Afghanistan in 2007; and

WHEREAS, Timothy D. Moore's service in the Kentucky Air National Guard also included missions in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Oman, as well as missions to South America, Central America, the Far East and Asia; and

WHEREAS, in 2008, Timothy D. Moore transitioned to a primary duty Air Force Reservist in preparation for a command role in the United States Air Force Reserve; and

WHEREAS, in his role as a national level regional director for the United States Air Force admissions liaison officers, Timothy D. Moore has an unusual perspective of having served in all three components of the Air Force; and

WHEREAS, in addition to serving his country, Timothy D. Moore has also served his state and community as a state representative since 2007, as well as actively participating in his church, Habitat for Humanity, Heartland Crisis Pregnancy Center, area Chambers of Commerce, the American Legion, VFW, Military Order of the World Wars, Association of the US Army, Air Force Association, and Military Officers Association of America, among other community activities; and

WHEREAS, on April 1, 2014, Timothy D. Moore will be promoted to the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives honors Timothy D. Moore on the occasion of his promotion to the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve and for his continuing service to this body and the country.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and recognition of Timothy D. Moore.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to deliver one copy of this Resolution to Representative Timothy D. Moore, Room 432A, Capitol Annex.
