A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Floyd Elliott Naylor.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Floyd Elliott Naylor, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Floyd Elliott Naylor was born on October 30, 1921, a native of Garrard County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on March 6, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Floyd Elliott Naylor was the loving son of the late Gabriel and Hallie Barker Naylor; he was the devoted husband of fifty-nine years to his loving wife, Mary Montgomery Naylor, who preceded him in death on October 11, 2001; and he was also preceded in death by three loving sisters, Lilly Caldwell, Gladys Sebastian, and Jessie Rogers, and two loving brothers, Willis and Welch Naylor; he was the loving father of a son, Kenneth Naylor and his wife, Joan, of Louisville, and of a daughter, Velma Naylor Miller and her husband, Jimmy, of Nicholasville; he was the loving grandfather of four grandchildren, Karen Mitchell and her fiance, Sean Franklin, of Louisville, Kimberly Huckleberry and her husband, Darryl, of LaGrange, Janie Kirby and her husband, Brian, and Jason Miller, all of Nicholasville; he was the loving great-grandfather of five great-grandchildren and four foster great-grandchildren: Bradley Gentry, T. J. Mitchell, Chelsea Mitchell, Kenneth Huckleberry and Zachary Huckleberry, and Caleb, Israel, Alexis and Joey; and he was the loving brother of two sisters, Nora Isabelle Naylor and Lyda Vern Puckett of Lexington, and two brothers, Clay and Alpha Naylor of Lexington; and

WHEREAS, Floyd Elliott Naylor was a loyal employee and maintenance supervisor for the Square D Company in Lexington for twenty-six years, before his retirement in 1984; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Floyd Elliott Naylor has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Floyd Elliott Naylor, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Floyd Elliott Naylor.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Velma Miller, 303 Locust Heights, Nicholasville, Kentucky 40356.
