A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Perry Stumbo, Jr.
WHEREAS, a native son of Printer, Kentucky, Perry Stumbo, Jr. was born on October 11, 1931, to Lela Mae Smith Stumbo and Perry Stumbo, Sr.; and
WHEREAS, Perry Stumbo, Jr. had a strong commitment to his country and community and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy; he had over 50 years of service as a barber and 17 years with the General Motors Company; and
WHEREAS, Perry Stumbo, Jr. enjoyed fishing, traveling, country music, and singing for his family and friends; his greatest joy in life was his family; and
WHEREAS, Perry Stumbo, Jr. is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret Stumbo; he was the loving father of Linda Stumbo Barlow and husband William, Tommy Stumbo and wife Janice, William Scott Stumbo and wife Marlene, and Bryan Chadwick Stumbo and wife Mary; he was the adoring grandfather of eight grandchildren, Jeremy Ryan Stumbo, William F. Barlow, III and wife Erin, Travis S. Stumbo and wife Sally, Taylor Suzanne Stumbo, Haley Anna Stumbo, Travis, Ryan, and Eric Bromley; the proud great-grandfather of William Alexander Barlow and Jada Bromley; caring brother of Judy Stumbo Meade and Jim Stumbo; and he is survived by a host of family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Perry Stumbo, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl Leo Stumbo and Kerry Stumbo, and sister Dixie Stumbo May; and
WHEREAS, Perry Stumbo, Jr. departed this earthly life on January 21, 2012, at the age of 80; and he will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and community;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
âSection 1. The Senate expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and extends its sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and community of Perry Stumbo, Jr.
âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Perry Stumbo, Jr.
âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Linda S. Barlow, 9109 Merrick Drive, Peachtree, Georgia 30260.
