A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Estill Darrell Banks.
WHEREAS, Estill Banks was the only son of the late Lucky C. and Kathryn Sexton Banks; and
WHEREAS, Estill Banks was a graduate of Whitesburg High School and Eastern Kentucky University. A proud veteran of the United States Army who served in the Korean War, he received an honorable discharge in 1956; and
WHEREAS, Estill Banks was an entrepreneur in the coal and construction industries. He retired in 1988, and upon retirement he devoted his time to playing golf, fishing, and spending time with his beloved wife at their homes in Florida and Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, Estill Banks was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Estill Banks departed this earthly life on February 14, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and
WHEREAS, Estill Banks is survived by his wife, Peggy; his children, Kathy Banks and her husband, Paul Schwab, Estill Darrell Banks II and his wife, Ginger, and Darrin Banks and his wife, Leigh; and his grandchildren, Jeff, Zach, Matt, Dylan, Sarah, Ellie, Ty, Nick, Darrell, Anna, Berry, Sam, and Britt;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
âSection 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound and sincere condolences upon the passing of Estill Darrell Banks, and extend their heartfelt sympathy to his family in this time of loss.
âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Estill Darrell Banks.
âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Peggy Banks, 1083 Taborlake Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40502.
