A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Earl Edwin Hall.

WHEREAS, Earl Edwin Hall was a son of this Commonwealth, having been born on November 30, 1922, the cherished son of the late Hartwell and Lucy Poe Hall; and

WHEREAS, Earl Edwin Hall joined Kentucky Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance in 1949 and worked there until his retirement. A staple of his Nicholasville community, he worked diligently to give back to the citizens of central Kentucky and to make Nicholasville a stronger and more vibrant place to live and work; and

WHEREAS, Earl Edwin Hall was chosen "Outstanding Jessamine County Man" of 1968 due to his work organizing Little League baseball teams. He also helped organize the Minor League and Connie Mack League for eight- to 18-year-old boys, was the president of the board of directors for the Jessamine County Recreation Club (otherwise known as the Lone Oak Country Club), and helped to obtain a federal grant for construction of an 18-hole golf course and swimming pool in Nicholasville; and

WHEREAS, Earl Edwin Hall was an avid baseball coach and golfer. He was memorialized on the 8th hole of his favorite golf course with a stone bench and an inscription on the tee box reading, "Earl Hall—The Arnold Palmer of Lone Oak Golf Course"; and

WHEREAS, Earl Edwin Hall departed this earthly life on March 24, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Earl Edwin Hall was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Janet Hall Clem; and his grandchildren, Les Clem, Jr., Alicia Hall, and Jennifer Hall. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Charlotte Graybill Hall; his children, Sue Hall Hill (Gerry), Sonny Hall (Tina), Bill Hall (Cindy), Patrice Hall Thompson (C.B.), and Kathy Hall Blankenship (Chuck); his siblings, Margaret Hall Ellis, Mae Hall Peniston, and Shirley Hall Brown; 14 grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren who will dearly miss him;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate hereby expresses its most profound and sincere condolences upon the passing of Earl Edwin Hall, and extends its heartfelt sympathy to his family in this time of loss.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Earl Edwin Hall.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit ten copies of this Resolution to Sonny Hall, 1931 Whispering Trail, Union, Kentucky 41091-9569.
