A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of E. Lee Ashcraft.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to E. Lee Ashcraft, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, E. Lee Ashcraft, a native of Clark County, Kentucky traversed these earthly bounds on February 13, 2004; and

WHEREAS, E. Lee Ashcraft was the loving son of the late Elvie Lee Ashcraft Sr. and Anna Frances Sanders Ashcraft; he was the devoted husband of Elizabeth "Liz" Hardy Ashcraft; he was the loving father of a son who predeceased him, Michael L. Ashcraft, and the loving father-in-law of Linda Ashcraft of Camargo; he was the loving father of his surviving son James Allen Ashcraft and his daughter-in-law Alice Ashcraft of Lexington; he was the proud grandfather of six granddaughters and three grandsons-in-law, Robin and Mark Walker, Stephanie and Jason Witt, Sherry and Larry Coldwell, Christie Michelle Ashcraft, Amanda Lee Ashcraft, and Lauren Nicole Ashcraft, and a grandson, Benjamin Drew Ashcraft; and he was the proud great-grandfather of eight great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, E. Lee Ashcraft was an esteemed member of the Clark County community, where he was a member of Crestview Christian Church; he was a retired production control analyst at International Business Machines with 33 years of dedicated service; he served three terms as Winchester City Commissioner, and at the time of his passing, he was seeking a fourth term as City Commissioner; he served on the Winchester Board of Ethics, the Storm Water Board, and he was a former ex-officio member of the Winchester Municipal Utilities Commission; he was a life member of the Clark Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and he was a member of the Generations Center Council; and

WHEREAS, the passing of E. Lee Ashcraft has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow at the passing of E. Lee Ashcraft, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of E. Lee Ashcraft.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Elizabeth Hardy Ashcraft, 325 Boone Avenue, Winchester, Kentucky 40391.
