A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor of Representative Charles and Carmen Lott Miller upon their 50th wedding anniversary.
WHEREAS, Charles Miller and Carmen Lott were married on February 5, 1965, in Livingston, Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, Charles Miller is a native of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, and a proud graduate of Lindsey Wilson College and Western Kentucky University. Carmen was born in Dycusburg, Kentucky, and attended Valley High School and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University; and
WHEREAS, Charles and Carmen Lott Miller were lifelong educators. Carmen was a first grade teacher for more than 32 years at Greenwood Elementary School and Wilkerson Elementary School, and Charles was a teacher and football coach at Pleasure Ridge Park High School, the assistant principal of Doss High School, and the principal of Pleasure Ridge Park; and
WHEREAS, Charles and Carmen Lott Miller are integral parts of their home community of Louisville, committing their time to several projects including Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing, the Farnsley-Kaufman House, and the Southwest Library; and
WHEREAS, Charles and Carmen Lott Miller have three beloved children, Caroline Miller Oyler and her husband, Michael, Chas Miller, and Stephanie Miller Slone and her husband, Brian; and eight grandchildren, John Michael Oyler, Nick Oyler, Elizabeth Oyler, Charlie Miller, Nate Miller, Isabella Slone, Olivia Slone, and Miller Slone; and
WHEREAS, this Honorable Body rightfully honors those married couples who serve as an inspiration to others through their unconditional love and dedication to one another. In celebration of their 50 years of loving marriage, this body hereby congratulates Charles and Carmen Lott Miller and grants them best wishes as they continue their lives together;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
Section 1. The House of Representatives hereby honors Representative Charles and Carmen Lott Miller upon their 50th wedding anniversary, acknowledges their loving children and grandchildren, and grants them best wishes as they celebrate this extraordinary day together.
Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Representative Charles and Carmen Lott Miller.
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Greg Stumbo for delivery.
