A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of Mr. Robert G. Brothers.
WHEREAS, Robert G. Brothers was a native son of the Commonwealth, having been born on July 9, 1940, in Carlisle to the late Maurice Glenn and Wilma Perry Brothers. He attended Maysville High School, Eastern Kentucky State College, and the Kentucky School of Embalming; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brothers served his country in the United States Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brothers was an active member of his community, serving as a board member of The Tennessee Walking Horse Owners Association and The Walking Horse Commission, and as a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, The Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, and the Kentucky State Coroners Association, where he earned the distinction of "Master Coroner". He was the Mason County Coroner in the 1960s and from 1999 until his passing; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brothers founded the Brothers Funeral Home with his parents, and provided comfort and professional service to the members of his community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brothers was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brothers is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Highley Brothers; his daughters, Cynthia Wulfekamp and her husband, Doug, and Dr. Shawn Williams and her husband, Jim; and his sons, Jacob Pendleton and his wife, Holly, and Russ Pendleton and his wife, Chasity. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren whom he so adored, Shelbie, Kaelin, Jack, Mason, and William; and his siblings, Sue Mayo, Glenn Brothers, and James Brothers; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Brothers, having enjoyed the pleasures of life and family for 73 fulfilling years, traversed these earthly bounds to join his Heavenly Father on July 18, 2013, and his family, friends, and the community of Maysville are joined in the sorrow of this great loss by the members of the House of Representatives;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
Section 1. The House of Representatives expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and extends its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Robert G. Brothers.
Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Robert G. Brothers.
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Ms. Vicki Brothers, 1061 Maple Ridge Avenue, Maysville, Kentucky 41056.
