A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of Marlyn Kelly Baird.

WHEREAS, Marlyn Kelly Baird was a son of the Commonwealth, having been born in Spencer County, the cherished son of the late Kelly and Susan Mildred Johnson Baird; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Baird was a retired dairy farmer; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Baird honorably served this country as a paratrooper in Japan during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Baird was active in his community, attending the Fisherville Church of Christ, serving on the Board of Directors for The Peoples Bank of Taylorsville, and serving as a member of the Spencer County Farm Bureau and the Taylorsville VFW Post #11426; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Baird departed this earthly life on December 23, 2014, at the age of 90, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Baird is survived by his beloved wife, Rena Pollett Baird; a daughter, Linda Morrow and her husband, Tim; a son, Bland Baird and his wife, Sherry; a brother, John Baird and his wife, Phyllis; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The House of Representatives hereby expresses its most profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Marlyn Kelly Baird and extends its heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends, and community in this time of loss.

âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Marlyn Kelly Baird.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative James Tipton for delivery.
